Alexander Efimoff earned his reputation as one of Russia's premier book illustrators. This beautiful and serene Asian lake scene features a man playing a musical string instrument serenading his female companion in the shade of an overhanging tree. The setting is filled with lily pads remininscent of Monet with hills and a pagoda in the distance.
